Notes: On March 31, 2010, I was reading an article on FastCompany.com about how the newly created UK Space Agency had designed a logo which has received mixed reviews. One of the comments after the article suggested that, instead of merely criticizing this logo, people should show their own concepts.

While I actually like the graphic of the UKSA's logo (it certainly breaks the mold of most other national space programs), I'm not crazy about the placement of their typography. So, I thought I'd take a quick shot at doing my own logo for them (emphasis on quick - I used DejaVu Sans [a font similar to Agenda] and didn't do any hand-kerning of the lettering).

Notes: After looking at this with fresh eyes (i.e., sleeping on it), I realized that I really don't like the bland font they used in their logo - it's not just the placement of the copy - Agenda is a boring font. So, in true Greg style, I went back to one of my favorite fonts - Square 721 - which practically oozes "space", and yet has enough refinement to stand the test of time. Yes, I know this font gets used all over the place, but that should actually be an argument in favor of using it in this context.
